Hilarious CD sale on Cragslist
The title for this ad reads, “MUST SELL Lot of rare cds/ CHEAP (Cridersville, Lima area)” I clicked through thinking maybe something nifty would be included. Much to my surprise and the demise of my nose which became filled with diet Pepsi I found the following at the bottom of the list.
44. Limp Bizkit- Three Dollar Bill Yall
45. Limp Bizkit- Significant Other
46. Limp Bizkit- Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water
47. Limp Bizkit- Results May Vary
Can you really call any of these rare let alone describe the endeavor as “getting most of these cds wasn’t easy and it definitely wasn’t cheap”?
Something to enjoy as you head to bed.

I apologize for the lack of updates this week. I am serving on a jury and my schedule has been thrown out of whack. I haven’t been able to do all of the normal web reading I normally do in part due to the lack of wireless in downtown Findlay other than one coffee shop which I have visited quite a bit over the past week.
Comparing the Final Days of England’s Wool Industry with the RIAA
I have been studying globalization recently and I am finishing up, “Travels of a T Shirt in the Global Economy” by Pietra Rivoli. Travels of a T shirt traces a t shirt from the cotton fields of Texas through a myriad of legislative quota mucking to other countries and back to the racks of clothing stores in the US. A large section of the book is dedicated to the legal maneuvering of the “alphabet army” who lobby congress, other acronyms and the president to legislate the US cotton industry which is reminiscent of the RIAA and the MPAA today. An even better example requires that we step further back in time to jolly England. Well the scene wasn’t quite so jolly for those living in 17th century England as they trudged through damp days wearing woolen clothing head to toe.
Merry Mixmas 2007 Everyone
DJ Riko who is behind such internet hits as Whistler’s Delight has released the sixth of his annual Christmas Mash up collections. Mixmas 2007 is available for download from various source and in enough audio qualities to fit anyone’s needs. This mix by DJ Riko is something I look forward to each year even though it leads to some odd looks from co workers and friends who think I have the strangest taste in Christmas music.
This Year’s mix is described as:
It features tunes created decades ago and tunes
created days ago. It has songs ranging from sincere to
silly to sublime, covering many different musical
styles and coming from many locations around the
world.
Some of my favorite DJ Riko mixes include, Whistler’s Delight, Stand Up and Ring my Doorbell and For Those About to Clown. These individual tracks are also available as a free download at DJRiko.com
Halo 3 Soundtrack Preview
Bungie announced earlier today that the Halo 3 soundtrack preview site has gone live. Currently the site only allows for short samples of each song on the 2 disk set with some commentary, however much more is to come. The Halo 3 soundtrack releases November 20th and is available for pre-order the Halo 3 soundtrack at Amazon right now.
On December 1st a special section of the soundtrack site will go live called, “Marty’s Playground”. This section will give fans access to many in game sound assets. If this isn’t exciting enough the playground adds an exciting feature. According to the description,
Using this system, you can “score” in game footage in real time.
This feature could be as simple as mixing the score for preset campaign moments, but I am thinging much bigger. Imagine if you could use the same audio assets as Marty to create a soundtrack for that killer multi-player match you just watched in the theater! With the current setup for watching in game footage this feature would apparently rely on the 360 if you mixing a “score” in real time. Until December one chalk this part of the implementation up as speculation on my part.
New Universal Quick Release Headphone Adapter
Replug is a slick new product which adds the “Magsafe” technology found on the macbook power cord to a 3.5 audio jack and it works on any device with a 3.5 jack.
I’m not big on adding an adapter into the mix but it looks elegant enough and so long as it is lightweight and comes in at a low pricepoint I’ll bite.
To finish up, check out this animated picture of the Replug in action.

Read! whicka whicka DMC on Reading Rainbow
I just caught this video on BoingBoing this morning. Run DMC was a guest on the popular Reading Rainbow series which was hosted by LeVar Burton, or as many of you know him Geordi La Forge from Star Trek:The Next Generation. The video should give you a moment to reminisce and is embedded below for your enjoyment.
